The city of Seville is situated in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula on the Guadalquivir River plain which crosses the city from North to South. The city is the provincial capital seat of the government and parliament of the Comunidad Autónoma de Andalucía (Regional Government). With a population of 703.021 inhabitants is the fifth most populated Spanish city. The metropolitan area is composed of 45 municipalities with a population of 1.468.009 inhabitants.
